Golden Arrows claimed a 2-1 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic at the Princes Magogo Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Saturday afternoon.

Arrows got off to a good start and had a great chance to open the scoring in the 14th minute when Kudakwashe Mahachi was put through on goal, one-on-one with the keeper, but couldn’t find the back of the net.

Celtic pushed forward on the counter-attacks, but failed to convert their chances in the final third as the match went into the half-time interval locked at 0-0.

However, Arrows were awarded a penalty in the 58th minute when Mahachi was brought down inside the box and Nanyiso Cele stepped up to take the spot kick. He made no mistake to make it 1-0.

Celtic then levelled matters just after the hour when Mpho Maruping put the ball into the back of the net from close range from a corner.

However, the home side restored their lead four minutes later through striker Knox Mutizwa to hand his side the lead for the second time in the match as they walked away with all three points.
