Colombian striker Mauricio Barrios will be sidelined for the next four weeks, according to Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen.

The 28-year-old joined Abafana Bes’thende from Venezuelan side Metropolitanos and is yet to make his debut for the Absa Premiership club.

The former Bloemfontein Celtic coach has confirmed that both Barrios and Kudakwashe Mahachi will be sidelined for four weeks.

However, Larsen revealed that both Barrios and Mahachi has been training separately from the team.

‘He [Barrios] is out along with Mahachi, and will likely be out for the next four weeks,’ Larsen told KickOff.com.

‘He is still training because it is a facial injury, but he can’t hit the ball or do any contact. Mahachi is also training [seperate from the team] with his arm, and can’t have any contact.’

Larsen admits that the pairs presence in the team will be missed and is looking forward to the duo returning to the squad.

‘We are missing them at the moment and it’s going to be a big boost when the two of them come back,’ he added.

Golden Arrows face Free State Stars at Goble Park Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday evening.

Kick-off has been moved from 19:30 to 18:00.
