Kaizer Chiefs claimed a late 3-2 victory over Polokwane City while Baroka and Golden Arrows played out to a 1-1 draw in the Absa Premiership on Sunday afternoon.

The Glamour Boys started the match off brightly and saw most of the possession of the ball in the opening stages but they struggled to carve out clear-cut opportunities in the opening 20 minutes.

Rise and Shine were awarded a penalty in the 23 minute when Willard Katsande brought down Puleng Tlolane but Rodney Ramagalela stepped up to take the spot-kick but his effort was saved by Amakhosi goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo.

However, Ramagalela made amends for his earlier miss in the 30th minute after he put the ball into the back of the net from 20-yards to make it 1-0.

After the first 45 minutes, Rise and Shine went into the half time interval with a 1-0 lead over Amakhosi.

However, Steve Komphela’s side levelled matters in the 62 minute when Siphiwe Tshabalala’s cross found Bernard Parker, who headed the ball past Polokwane goalkeeper Chigova.

The home side then took the lead for the first time 10 minutes later when Parker set up Joseph Molangoane, who hit the back of the net from six-yards out.

Rise and Shine then found an equalising goal in the 82nd minute when Jabu Maluleke played Puleng Tlolane through on goal before he slotted the ball through Khuzwayo’s legs to make it 2-2.

Amakhosi all but sealed the victory in the 90th minute when Katsande’s strike found its way into the top corner as his side walked away with all three points to end their winless streak in the Absa Premiership.
