Ajax Cape Town coach Roger De Sa will be hoping to rectify their previous result when they take on Kaizer Chiefs at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on October 15.

The Urban Warriors suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against Cape Town City in their first local derby between the two sides at Cape Town Stadium. City striker Bhongolethu Jayiya scored the only goal of the game to ensure City collected all three points.

De Sa says he was disappointed to have suffered their second defeat of the season but has credited City for keeping Ajax at by throughout the match.

‘Obviously, I am disappointed having lost. It was end-to-end, and it didn’t stop. We started ok and created half chances,’ De Sa told the Ajax Cape Town website.

‘We tried to get back in the second half, but never got a go at it. Credit goes to City from stopping us from playing.’

The 51-year-old says that both Rivaldo Coetzee and Mosa Lebusa suffered hamstring injuries during the match and had to be taken off but De Sa believes his side can rectify their recent form of results.

‘We suffered those injuries and tried to change things up. We went three at the back and pushed one forward. But we couldn’t score …,’ he added.

‘We have got two defenders off with injuries and that is a bit of a concern. Fortunately, we do have a bit of break before our next game. The Wits game got postponed so we do have a two-and-a-half week break before our next match. Hopefully, we can rectify a few things.

Ajax Cape Town against Kaizer Chiefs kicks off at 19:30.
