Kaizer Chiefs striker Camaldine Abraw faces a long term injury layoff having sustained a serious knock while on international duty with Togo.

The injury, which will reportedly rule the forward put for around nine months, was announce by the Amakhosi’s football manager Bobby Motaung at a press conference this morning, as reported by the club’s Twitter account.

The striker, who joined the club from Free State Stars at the start of last term, has scored just four times for the club from 20 appearances. Now, the forward is set to miss the entire 2016-17 season.

The Glamour Boys had used the conference primarily to unveil the signing of no less than eight new players for next season, while also confirming that former Ghana captain John Paintsil will replace Doctor Khumalo as the team’s assistant to Steve Komphela.

Khumalo, meanwhile, is set to serve the club in a yet unspecified alternate role.
