Arsenal defender Rob Holding believes Gareth Southgate has plenty to offer England after taking over the role as interim manager.
The 21-year-old has been part of England U21 squads since making his debut in May 2016 and the young defender has already featured twice for Southgateโs side.
Holding says he is backing his former coach to rise to the challenge of leading the Three Lions to success during his interim period with the national team.
โI think itโs something he could easily do and take in his stride, not a problem,โ Holding told the Arsenal website.
โHeโs been really good with me, he brought me into the England set-up.โ
The former Bolton defender says Southgateโs experience will be of great value to the national team.
โI wish him all the best for the few games that he takes charge of and who knows in the future if he takes it full-time,โ he added.
โHe talks a lot to me, Calum, Kortney, and Hause, who are the three young centre-halves that are there. Heโll just pull us aside and just say what he thinks, what he thinks is easier to do and where we should be. His experience is invaluable.โ
Arsenal will next take on Swansea City in the Premier League when the two sideโs meet at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
Kick-off has been scheduled for 16:00.
