Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has been tipped to replace Harry Kane as the league’s top scorer this season by leading South African bookmakers, Bet.co.za.

Kane was the king of England last season as he rattled the net 25 times to claim the top honour as Spurs were forced to settle for second place behind Leicester City.

Pep Guardiola will be looking to make an instant impact in the Premier League following his summer arrival and will hope to keep Aguero fit for large parts of the season. Should he manage to stay fit, Aguero will be hard to beat and Bet.co.za agree.

Vardy, who snubbed interest from Arsenal earlier in the summer, and Aguero both scored just one goal less than Aguero and remain key to their team’s cause.

Aguero is currently the favourite to finish the season on top of the scoring charts ahead of Kane and Manchester United’s newest icon Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Leading contenders for the Golden Boot:

Sergio Aguero – 3.25/1

Harry Kane – 6.25/1

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – 8.25/1

Romelu Lukaku –  11.75/1

Diego Costa – 14.25/1

Jamie Vardy – 16.25/1

Other notables:

Olivier Giroud – 19/1

Alexis Sanchez – 21/1

Daniel Sturridge – 20/1

Anthony Martial – 29/1

Wayne Rooney -39/1
