The Proteas will field first after winning the toss against India in Sunday’s T20 international at the Wanderers.

The Proteas will be without AB de Villiers, who misses out on the entire series due to a knee injury.

Hashim Amla and Aiden Markram will be rested and replaced by Reeza Hendricks and Jon-Jon Smuts at the top of the order.

Tabraiz Shamsi, and Smuts are the Proteas’ spinning options and will face the daunting task of suppressing an India side who are masterful against spin.

JP Duminy, Shamsi, David Miller, Chris Morris, and Heinrich Klaasen are the only survivors from the ODI side. Wicketkeeper Klaasen and fast bowler Junior Dala makes their T20I debut for the Proteas.
