Ayabonga Khaka and Raisibe Ntozakhe took three wickets apiece as the Proteas Women claimed a nine-wicket win after bundling out the Bangladesh Women for 89.

Bangladesh sent the Proteas into bowl first in the second ODI at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom and crumbled due to a ruthless bowling display from the hosts.

Selectors decided to give Marizanne Kapp a rest and replaced her with 21-year-old Andrie Steyn. Without their most experienced bowler, they still managed to dominate the opposition.

Khaka (3-13) starred in the opening five overs and picked up three sticks to stun the visitors who only managed to put 10 runs on the board. This took the 25-year-old to 51 career wickets in 49 matches.

The Proteas took advantage of their dominant start, as Masabata Klaas (1-16) and Dane van Niekerk (1-10) took a wicket apiece on either end of a Ntozakhe (3-16) three-for reducing Bangladesh to 45-8 in 22 overs.

The hosts, however, struggled to pick up the final two wickets, allowing Panna Ghosh and Jahanara Alam to add 37 runs for the eighth wicket before Chloe Tryon (1-5) sent the latter packing on 18.

Klaas got involved once again with the run out of Nahida Akter, as the Proteas Women wrapped up Bangladesh for 89.

The chase was simple but it was not a perfect 17 over route to the required 90. Lizelle Lee (32 off 41 balls) was the only wicket to fall, as she racked up 65 runs with Laura Woolvaardt.

Woolvaardt (37) and Trisha Chetty (13) finished off the match, as the Proteas sealed a nine-wicket win to go 2-0 up in five-match series.
