The SABC will not provide full coverage of the Proteas’ tour to England.

This includes the ODI series starting on 24 May, the Champions Trophy which begins on 1 June, the T20I series which commences on 21 June, as well as the Test series against England, which starts on 6 July.

According to the SABC’s website, they were unable to secure the rights for the entire tour.

The broadcasters have ensured that they will serve their audience during this period with regular hourly updates on SABC Sport and Radio 2000.

SuperSport will be the only live broadcasters for the Proteas’ UK tour.

Earlier this year, South African non-DSTV subscribers were unable to witness the Proteas’ tour of New Zealand, which saw them record a 1-0 Test win and a 3-2 ODI series victory against the Black Caps. SABC did not cover the tour and revealed that the rights were too expensive.

The Proteas will take on England in the first ODI on Wednesday at 15:00 SAST.
