Captain AB de Villiers knows nothing less than consecutive victories will suffice from the Tshwane Spartans’ final two Mzansi Super League fixtures.

The Spartans currently occupy fifth position in the tournament’s six-team standings, after four wins in nine matches.

They will play the Jozi Stars at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on Tuesday – and Durban Heat at SuperSport Park in Centurion.

‘We have to go out there and try and win both games. It’s the back end of the competition now and every game will be tough, but were ready and looking forward to it,’ said de Villiers.

The Spartans’s resources are depleted, having lost fast bowler Lungi Ngidi and batsman Theunis de Bruyn to injury.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Gihahn Cloete is their leading run-scorer, with 261 in eight innings. Sri Lanka spinner Jeevan Mendis has their most wickets – 16 in eight matches.
