World Sports Betting Western Province will look to win all their remaining matches for a chance at the CSA T20 Challenge knockouts after losing both of their CSA T20 Challenge matches week, first to the Auto Investments Dragons mid-week and Hollywoodbets Dolphins on Sunday.

A summary of last week’s results:

Auto Investment North West Dragons vs World Sports Betting Western Province – JB Marks Oval, Potchefstroom

Gideon Peters and Kerwin Mungroo were both outstanding with the ball in what turned out to be only a third win of the campaign for the Dragons over World Sports Betting Western Province at the JB Marks Oval.

The home side won by 11 runs thanks to Peters’ 3/23, with Mungroo also excelling with his economical 1/12 in 4 overs that restricted the Cape side to 144/6 chasing 156.

Batting first, NW reached 155/8 thanks to Raynard van Tonder (39*) and Rubin Hermann (30).

Eddie Moore fell three short of a 50 in the reply and Valentine Kitme struck 33, but it was not enough as the visitors ended short.

World Sports Betting Western Province vs Hollywoodbets Dolphins – WSB Newlands Cricket Ground, Cape Town

WSB Western Province again missed the chance to move clear of 2023 winners, suffering a heavy 8-wicket defeat to the Dolphins, who won with a bonus-point in Cape Town.

Province batted first after winning the toss but were flattened for 96. Andile Simelane (3/12) and Prenelan Subrayen (3/18) proved key for the Durban side with the ball.

The visitors needed only 11.1 overs to then chase down that target with Khayelihle Zondo (35), Grant Roelofsen (21), Jon-Jon Smuts (16*) and Marques Ackerman (17*) all amongst the runs.
