Titans teammate Matthew Boast and Dayaan Galiem fetched the highest bids at the SA20 auction in Johannesburg.

Kasey McAteer gave Leicester the lead after just three minutes, when the Championship leaders hit their Premier League opponents on the counterattack.

Liverpool tried very hard to tie the game. Young players Harvey Elliott and Ben Doak hit the post, while Jarell Quansah was stopped by Jakub Stolarczyk.

Cody Gakpo scored the equaliser for the Reds with a good finish just after halftime. Earlier, Conor Coady stopped him from scoring when he was on the goal line.

Then it was the Dutch forward’s turn to hit the post. His header went over the bar after good work by Doak and Elliott.

Szoboszlai put Liverpool ahead when, right after coming on as a substitute in the second half, he blasted a shot that couldn’t be stopped in off the crossbar.

Leicester tried to answer as they tried to win at Anfield for the first time since 2000, but the constant pressure from the home team paid off with a third goal.

Diogo Jota’s easy flick put an end to the game, and the 2022 winners moved on to the fourth round, where they will visit Bournemouth.
