Australia’s rampant bowling attack ripped through a fragile England batting lineup, as they sealed a 120-run win on day five of the second Test in Adelaide.
The game was England’s to lose as they went into day five on 176-4 with their captain, Joe Root, in good nick on 67.

Australia never allowed their rivals to settle as England lost six wickets for 57 runs, kick-started by a pumped-up Josh Hazlewood whose double strikes sent both Chris Woakes (5) and Root (67) packing.
England’s demise followed, as Starc grabbed three scalps to complete his ninth Test five-for, dismissing Craig Overton (7), Stuart Broad (8) and England’s last hope, Jonny Bairstow, on 36 off 59 balls.
It was all after Nathan Lyon took his second of the innings, to complete England’s top-six collapse for 188 runs, removing Moeen Ali (2).
England was obliterated for 233, giving Australia a 120-run victory to take a 2-0 lead in the series.
Starc improved on his 3-49 in the first innings with 5-88 in 19.2 overs in the second innings.
