Spinner Simon Harmer took 10 wickets in the match as the Northerns Titans thrashed Western Province by an innings and 139 runs at Newlands on Sunday.

Having been forced to follow on after being dismissed for 195 in response to the Titans’ daunting score of 647-7, WP fared better in their second innings to reach the end of day three on 260-5.

But Titans all-rounder Neil Brand’s three morning-session scalps helped bowl WP out for 313 (Yaseen Vallie couldn’t bat due to an injury).

Harmer took 3-149 to go with his excellent first-innings figures of 7-76.

In Potchefstroom, the EP Warriors beat the North West Dragons by 130 runs.

The Warriors declared on 364-2 after unbeaten centuries from Matthew Breetzke (152* off 265 balls) and Rudi Second (103* off 122).

In Durban, the KZN Dolphins and Free State Knights played to a draw.

An outstanding innings of 177* off 357 balls from Matthew Kleinveldt enabled the visitors to declare on 397-4.

But the Knights bowlers could only pick up five second-innings wickets and the captains shook hands with the Dolphins on 174-5.
