Muhsin Ertugral has rebuffed rumours linking him with a third return to Absa Premiership outfit Kaizer Chiefs.
Ertugral was spotted at a number of PSL encounters this past week, prompting media reports that a return to the Naturena-based outfit is on the cards. However, the former Orlando Pirates mentor categorically denied the news.
โChiefs have never contacted me,โ he told Independent Media.
โThey still have the coach and I believe he can turn things around at Chiefs. Steve [Komphela] was my assistant and I love him as a person.
โI have a good working relationship with Steve and I will never backstab. Iโm not that type of coach that backstabs other coaches,โ he added.
The Turk infamously resigned from his post as Pirates head coach following a humiliating 6-0 thumping by SuperSport United in a league encounter, but Ertugral has revealed that he has not been short on offers from clubs wanting his services.
โรn the beginning of the season I had an offer from England. The contract was there and we had agreed on everything. I went there and I met players, but my work permit got delayed,โ he said.
โIt took two months and I ended up losing the job. I donโt want to mention the name of the team because thereโs a coach at that particular club at the moment. After that I went to Turkey where I was doing TV work.
โIโm also on the Fifa technical committee. Iโve had offers from South African teams, but I declined them. At the moment Iโm relaxing, but if an opportunity comes I will have a look at it then make the decision. I need to take the right decision,โ he added.
