Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso insists his side must remain humble and continue working hard after their triumph in the MTN8.
The Brazilians dethroned Orlando Pirates in the top-eight competition following their 2-0 victory in the final.
Sundowns lifted their first MTN8 title since 2021 after goals from Teboho Mokoena and Iqraam Rayners at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
Cardoso has hailed the achievement of securing two trophies by October, but insists they have to turn their attention to upcoming fixtures and a challenging CAF Champions League qualifying campaign.
Speaking to SuperSport, Cardoso stressed that there is little time to celebrate, with another match on the horizon and continental competition presenting a stern test for the Brazilians.
“So, I think it’s an amazing achievement and it’s fantastic to arrive in October with two trophies on the back,” Cardoso told SuperSport TV after the game.
“Now we need to keep humble, keep humble, keep working hard, keep thinking that if we don’t work hard, we’ll never achieve nothing because there’s already a match after tomorrow and then there’s the qualifying round for the Champions League that will be very tough.”
