Mamelodi Sundowns forward Arthur Sales says winning the MTN8 title has been a clear objective since the start of the season, with the club determined to deliver the cup for Miguel Cardoso.

The Brazilians will face the defending champions in the MTN8 final at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium, with a coveted trophy up for grabs.

Sundowns will be determined to end their wait for MTN8 glory, having last lifted the trophy in 2021.

With the build-up to the final intensifying, Sales insists Sundowns’ response to the growing attention around the fixture is simple: they want to win the cup.

“When the year started, the coach said, ‘I want to fight for this cup’ because already Cardoso has not won this one,” he said.

“We see a lot of people talking about this game. Our answer for this one is we want this cup.”
