Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane has announced that midfielder Lebohang Maboe has withdrawn from their camp in Johannesburg.

The 32-year-old joined the Bafana camp for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers against Guinea and Eritrea.

However, Maboe picked up an injury during Kaizer Chiefs goalless draw against Golden Arrows this past weekend.

Bafana team doctor Tshepo Molobi has revealed that Maboe picked up an ankle injury after undergoing a scan on Monday

“He twisted his ankle while playing for Kaizer Chiefs and after undergoing a scan, he will be ruled out from the current camp and this FIFA window,” Dr Molobi said.

The South African mentor has since confirmed that Orlando Pirates forward Tshepang Moremi has been called up to replace him in the squad.
