Mamelodi Sundowns forward Brayan Leon believes their supporters can provide an important boost as the Brazilians look to make the most of home advantage when they take on Al-Ahli.

The Brazilians will face Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ahli in the second round of the Intercontinental Cup, with the two sides set to meet at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Sunday.

Sundowns secured their place in the competition after being crowned CAF Champions League winners last season, earning the opportunity to represent Africa on the global stage.

Leon has praised the fans for their unwavering backing, saying their vocal support gives the players extra motivation and reminds them that they are never alone on the pitch.

“Having the home advantage can only be a positive thing. Having the backing of your fans really spurs you on.

“For me, it doesn’t matter what game it is or who you’re up against. When your fans are cheering you on, that’s worth more than anything.

“You have to give the fans credit for that as well. They’re always cheering us on and making sure we know we’re not alone.”
