Mamelodi Sundowns defender Malibongwe Khoza has stressed the importance of squad rotation and opening up on taking every opportunity to contribute to the team’s success.

The Brazilians returned to winning ways in the Betway Premiership following their 2-0 win over Marumo Gallants in the first home game of the season at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

The 22-year-old scored his first goal of the campaign for Sundowns in only his second appearances for the club this season.

Khoza has praised the Brazilians’ strong start to their first home match of the season, highlighting their attacking intent and defensive discipline.

“It was very clear, attack them from the first minute to make sure that we get the goal early so that we can play our game and make sure we get the goals and the clean sheet,” Khoza told Sundowns TV.

“Every player wants to play so the rotation is to keep the squad fit and ready for the next match. If you tired the next one will come in and do the job for the guys, for the team.

“I think every opportunity that comes you have to make sure you take it, you grab it and make sure that you help the team to win.

“A really great start in our very first game at home. I think it was a nice feeling because it was our first game and we needed to get that win and made sure that we kept the clean sheet at the back.”
