South African winger Thapelo Maseko has completed a European switch to Danish giants FC Copenhagen from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Maseko joined the Danish club after parting ways with Sundowns, where made 45 appearances and scored three goals and grabbed one assists in three years at the club.

The 22-year-old arrives at Copenhagen on a permanent transfer after putting pen to paper on a four-year contract.

Maseko will wear the No. 12 shirt at FC Copenhagen, with the number expected to remain unchanged once the transfer window closes.

“F.C. Copenhagen are delighted to announce the signing of South Africa international Thapelo Maseko,” Copenhagen said in a statement.

“The 22-year-old moves to Copenhagen from Mamelodi Sundowns on a four-year contract, arriving in the Danish capital on the back of impressive performances in South African football.

“He has established himself as a key player for Mamelodi Sundowns while also making his mark on the South Africa national team, where he recently scored the winning goal against South Korea during this summer’s World Cup.

“Maseko is a left-footed winger who possesses a direct playing style and exceptional speed.”
