Neo Rapoo has reflected on the unforgettable moment he made his Orlando Pirates debut, admitting it initially felt surreal before he settled into the occasion and embraced the opportunity.

The 20-year-old joins the Buccaneers after completing a transfer from Siwelele FC.

Rapoo made his debut for the Sea Robbers when he came on as a 75th minute substitute to replace Deon Hotto in their 2-0 victory over Milford FC.

The young left-back also credited the warm welcome from his teammates Makhehleni Makhaula for helping him feel at home, while the familiarity of playing alongside several former teammates made his transition to life at Pirates even smoother.

“Firstly, I didn’t believe it was actually happening, but once I came on, I just told myself to keep it simple and just enjoy the moment, you know, because I’m privileged to play for this big club and blessed as well,” Rapoo told his club’s official website.

“It’s been good. I didn’t feel new at all. I felt like I’ve been there before, everyone was friendly you know. Cash (Makhehleni Makhaula) has been a grootman that just taught me a lot and made me feel at home.

“Playing with (Oswin) Appollis, Tito (Patrick Maswanganyi), Thalente (Mbatha) and others at SuperSport and coming here with (Bohlale) Ngwato and (Gamphani) Lungu – it just felt good to be there.”
