Orlando Pirates midfielder Oswin Appollis has opened up and spoken candidly about the emotional impact of the passing of his close friend and former teammate Jayden Adams.

Adams passed away on Saturday, July 11, at the age of 25 after returning from the World Cup, where he represented Bafana Bafana.

The 25-year-old’s passing has sent shockwaves through the football community, and for Appollis, the loss was personal as they were not only national teammates but close friends.

Despite his grief, the Bafana Bafana international said he had remained committed to his professional responsibilities.

“Obviously you know when I got the news, it was difficult you know. But like I said, I have to continue doing my job. I have a family to feed, so I have to do my job,” Appollis told the media.

“Obviously , I have to keep going because this is my job. This happen and for me, I’m always smiling.

“Stuff that happened, it happened and, like I said, this is my job. I have to do my job.”
