Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz has provided an update on defender Bradley Cross after the left-back was forced off during Amakhosi’s Toyota Cup victory.

The 25-year-old was forced off the field due to injury during Amakhosi’s victory in the Toyota Cup.

The Chiefs coach added that the left-back will be monitored over the coming weeks, with the immediate focus on his rehabilitation before attention turns to the club’s next fixture as they prepare for the start of a demanding league campaign.

Da Cruz went on to explain that while Cross remains an important player for the squad, he had a shortened pre-season and the club is taking a cautious approach to his recovery.

“It’s a very important player for us, but he had a short pre-season so we need to take time out and see him in some few weeks.

“The first step is the recovery in the next few days and after that we prepare the next game on Saturday because we start our marathon in the championship.”
