Kaizer Chiefs attacker Inacio Miguel says the Toyota Cup presents the perfect opportunity for Amakhosi to make amends for last year’s disappointment.

The Glamour Boys fell to Asante Kotoko 3-2 on penalties after a 0-0 draw in the cup last season.

Amakhosi will look to redeem themselves when they face Zimbabwean giants Scottland FC in Rustenburg.

Miguel insists the team is fully focused on lifting the trophy while using the encounter as ideal preparation ahead of the start of the 2026-27 Betway Premiership campaign.

“It may be styled as a friendly match but to me, there’s a trophy to win,” Miguel told his club’s official website.

“For our fans as well the team, we want to redeem ourselves after not managing to win it last year. We have the opportunity to do that because the Khosi Nation deserves it.

“We are taking this match seriously because the league starts next weekend and we intend to hit the ground running. This is the perfect warm-up.”
