Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Naphtali Mokoena believes the club’s pre-season tour has provided invaluable preparation ahead of the new campaign.
Mokoena rose to prominence after playing a key role in his side’s DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) title-winning campaign, delivering a series of standout performances in the reserve league.
The 19-year-old has moved closer to a senior-team breakthrough at Naturena, having been included in Kaizer Chiefs’ squad for their pre-season tour of Europe.
Mokoena says the experience has highlighted the need to build greater physical strength as the Glamour Boys continue to adapt and prepare for the challenges that await in the 2026/27 season.
“It has been a great experience to come across a different culture, different people, different weather,” Mokoena told his club’s official website.
“It is very hot here now but I feel this will benefit us during the season.
“I have been impressed by the physicality of the teams we’ve played.
“I think we match them skill-wise and in pace so we will look at working on building our strength going forward.”
