Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente has praised his side as the “world’s best team” after they booked their place in the World Cup final following their commanding victory over France.

The Spanish side booked their place in the World Cup final after claiming a 2-0 victory over France in the semi-finals.

Goals from Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedro Porro saw Spain walk away victorious at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

La Roja are now set to take on the winner in the match between England and Argentina, which takes place at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Wednesday.

The Spanish mentor praised his players for staying true to the philosophy they have built over the past four years.

“We started almost four years ago with an idea, and we’ve been faithful to that idea and it’s brought us here,” De la Fuente RTVE.

“Today we faced one of the best national teams in the world, but in front of them they had the best team in the world.

“That is the difference. These players deserve everything. Day after day, they’ve showed their commitment, solidarity, generosity, talent. They make the difficult look easy.”
