Spain coach Luis de la Fuente believes his side has every reason to be confident ahead of their World Cup semi-final against France.

La Roja will be determined to book their side in the final when they take on France in the last four at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

De la Fuente insists his side have to quality to match France and highlighted that Spain are the only team to have beaten them in the last two major semi-final appearances.

“France has exceptional potential, and so do we,” de la Fuente said.

“We have very high expectations for the next game.

“We are aware of the great potential the opponent in front of us has, but are also aware that the only team that has beaten them in the last two semi-finals [in UEFA Euro 2024 and the 2025 UEFA Nations League] they’ve played has been us.”
