France captain Kylian Mbappé has eased concerns over his fitness after suffering an ankle knock during their 2-0 win over Morocco in the World Cup quarter-final.

Les Bleus secured their place in the World Cup semi-finals after claiming a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Morocco in the quarter-finals.

Goals from Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembélé at the Gillette Stadium saw Didier Deschamps’ side book their place in the last four.

France captain Kylian Mbappé has allayed fears over his fitness after picking up an ankle knock in Les Bleus’ latest FIFA World Cup victory, insisting he is fit and ready for the challenge ahead.

Mbappe insists he is fully fit and ready for the challenge that lies ahead as they prepare for the semi-finals.

“I took a knock to the ankle, but I’m fine,” Mbappe told FIFA.

“At that point, JP [Jean-Philippe Mateta] was in better shape than I was to play the final minutes.

“The secret to this France team? There’s only one way to relax, and that’s by winning. Until we’ve done that, we don’t let up.

“We’re in the semi-finals and we’re very happy, but there’s still a long way to go.

“We realise that what lies ahead is even tougher than what we’ve been through, but we’re ready to face anything.”
