Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann admitted there was a deep sense of disappointment in the dressing room after his side’s heartbreaking following their exit from the World Cup.

Die Mannschaft’s journey at the World Cup came to an end after they were beaten 3-2 on penalties by Paraguay after the match ended 1-1.

Germany are now out of the competition ,while Paraguay will take on the winner of the match between France and Sweden.

Nagelsmann has lament his sides inability to capitalise on their dominance, which led to their elimination after a frustrating display.

“There’s a real sense of dejection in the dressing room,” Nagelsmann told FIFA.

“Unfortunately, that’s how football works sometimes, some teams can win with simple means. And you have to defend against those means consistently.

“We took too long to make our opponent chase the game. We could have put the ball into the box far more often.

“We have to settle the game before it gets to [penalties]. Our build-up play was too slow.”
