Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has backed his players to rise to the occasion once again as South Africa prepare to take on Canada in their World Cup Round of 32 on Sunday.
South Africa advanced to the knockout stages of the tournament after claiming a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Korea Republic in their final Group A encounter.
Bafana will now take on co-hosts Canada in the last 32 when they meet at the SoFi Stadium on Sunday evening.
Broos insists the squad remains hungry to continue making history and prove their quality on the global stage.
“I just know that the players will be ready again and try to achieve the third round,” said Broos.
“It should be even more historic. But those players are chasing those things. Those players want to prove to everyone and to show that they are a good team.
“So we will see next Sunday if we can go further.”
