France superstar Kylian Mbappe insists that personal milestones are secondary, with his main focus firmly on helping Les Bleus achieve World Cup success.

Mbappe recently overtook Olivier Giroud (57) as France’s all time leading scorer and currently sits on 60 goals.

The 27-year-old also has an opportunity to break France’s Just Fontaine record for the most goals scored in one World Cup (13), he set back in 1958.

The French international netted a double to help his side secure a 3-0 victory over Iraq to help his side reach the last 32.

The Real Madrid superstar stressed that collective success remains the team’s primary objective despite his prolific goalscoring record on football’s biggest stage.

“I’m not thinking about that just now. I think it is important to focus on the collective at the moment,” said the Real Madrid superstar.

“I have always scored goals at the World Cup, but the priority is to be at our best as a team. You need to beat the best teams to win a World Cup so it’s going to be very difficult.”
