Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni has emphasised the importance of taking things game by game during the World Cup group stage.

The Argentinian side got their World Cup campaign off to the perfect start after they secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Algeria in their opening Group Stage match.

Argentina will be hoping to continue their current momentum when they face Austria at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington on Monday evening.

Scaloni highlighted the positive atmosphere within the squad and the value of rotating his players to keep everyone involved, expressing confidence that the team can build momentum and secure a strong position heading into their final group match.

“We are going to take it one game at a time. The team is happy,” Scaloni said after his side’s win over Algeria.

“We gave playing time to a lot of players. Hopefully, we can win the next one, so everyone can be in the third group stage match.”
