Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has underlined the significance of South Africa’s FIFA World Cup Group A clash against Czechia, describing it as a decisive encounter in their quest to reach the knockout stages.
South Africa will look to bounce back and return to winning ways following their 2-0 defeat to Mexico in their opening fixture of the World Cup.
Hugo Broos’ men will now turn their focus to their upcoming clash against Czechia when they square off at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Belgian tactician warned that defeat would leave his side relying on other results and complex calculations, insisting that avoiding a loss is crucial to keeping their qualification hopes firmly in their own hands.
“It will be a very important game tomorrow (today),” said Broos
“If you do not lose you still have a chance, but if you lose, then it will be decided by calculations based on what happens in the other groups.
“For me this game is decisive and important, and if you lose it will be very difficult.”
