Real Madrid have completed the signing of Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella in a deal worth £51.8 million.
The Blues signed Cucurella from Brighton & Hove Albion during the 2022-23 season for a transfer fee of £63m.
Cucurella made 163 appearances across all competitions and scored nine goals and registered 13 assists for the Blues.
The 27-year-old has now put pen to paper on a six-year deal at Real Madrid and completes his transfer for a fee of £47.5m plus £4.3m in add-ons, with the potential to rise to £51.8m in total.
“Marc Cucurella has completed a permanent transfer to Spanish La Liga side Real Madrid,” Chelsea said in a statement.
“Cucurella joined Chelsea in the summer of 2022 from Brighton & Hove Albion and was part of the team that lifted the UEFA Europa Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup last year.
“During Cucurella’s stay at Stamford Bridge, the 27-year-old defender regularly represented the Spanish national team and won the UEFA European Championships in 2024.
“Everyone at Chelsea FC would like to thank Marc for his efforts during his time at the club and for the role he played in our recent achievements.
“We wish him every success as he begins the next stage of his career.”
