South Africa will take on co-hosts Mexico in the opening fixture of the World Cup at the Azteca Stadium, Mexico City.
Bafana and Mexico have been drawn in Group A alongside South Korea and the Czech Republic.
Williams is relishing the opportunity to lead South Africa onto one of football’s most iconic stages when they face Mexico in their opening match of the World Cup.
“We will be playing in Azteca Stadium, and that will be historic for us,” Williams said.
“Words can’t describe how important that stadium is and what it means … not only to Mexico but to the entire world and the footballing nation.
“It’s amazing, I can’t wait to feel the atmosphere.”
