Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos expressed his satisfaction with his side’s overall display despite their frustrating goalless draw against Nicaragua.

South Africa were forced to settle for a draw after playing out to a goalless draw against Nicaragua at the Orlando Amstel Arena.

Bafana will now shift their focus to their final international friendly when they take on Jamaica on 5 June.

The Belgian tactician felt South Africa controlled proceedings but found it difficult to break down an opponent focused solely on defending.

“Surely, I think we can be happy about the performance of the team even within today, but if you play against such a negative opponent than it becomes very difficult,” Broos told SABC Sport after the match.

“Those people came here 90 minutes and defend, kicking the ball in front and then at the end injuries, one minute after the other so yeah it was all very negative and for us very difficult

“Yes, we missed a penalty when we score there, I think we can score more goals also because then they will try something, but then the opponent didn’t try anything today except defending.”
