Orlando Pirates winger Oswin Appollis credited sacrifice, hard work and unity within the squad after the Buccaneers’ title-winning campaign.

The Buccaneers ended their campaign on a high note after securing a 2-0 victory over Orbit College in their final Betway Premiership match of the season.

As a result of the win, Pirates ended their 14-year wait for the Betway Premiership title, winning the title by two points over defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Appollis praised not only the players on the pitch but also those behind the scenes for their collective contribution to the club’s success.

“You know, it’s all about sacrifice and hard work and the team did it today, but not just today,” Appollis told SuperSport TV after the game.

“I want to congratulate the whole squad, even the players [in the stands] they understand.

“They worked with us to be champions today so I want to say everyone the staff, cooking for us everyone together. I just want to say thank you to everyone.”
