Bafana Bafana are set to host Nicaragua in their 2026 FIFA World Cup send-off match at the end of the month.

The match between the two sides is scheduled to take place on Friday, May 29, with kick-off set for 18:00.

South Africa will use this match as their final preparation before they head off to the World Cup next month.

Hugo Broos’ side will take on hosts Mexico in the opening fixture of the global showpiece, which is set to be played at the Azteca Stadium, Mexico City.

“We encourage families and fans to come in their numbers to support the team,” SAFA President Dr Danny Jordaan said.

“The players will appreciate the support before heading to the FIFA World Cup to be hosted by the United States of America, Canada and Mexico from 11 June to 19 July 2026.”
