Mamelodi Sundowns defender Keanu Cupido says he is willing to do “anything for the badge” after battling through injury pain to help secure victory over FAR Rabat.
The 28-year-old reportedly dislocated his shoulder in Sundowns’ draw against Kaizer Chiefs in the Betway Premiership and spent the next two matches on the sidelines.
Cupido played the entire 90 minutes in the Brazilians’ 1-0 victory over the Moroccan outfit at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Sunday.
The Sundowns defender will be hoping to help his side to victory when they take on FAR Rabat at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah in Rabat on Sunday.
“I had to take injection, but anything for the badge. If the team needs me, I have to be there, through pain or whatever. I am happy to be on the field again. It’s my happy place,” Cupido told the media.
“I am just lucky to be back on the field and I have to thank bra Saki. He said I should mention him.
“I should thank him and the Almighty and also the doctors at the team for helping me in those few days. They really showed up and I just want to say thank you to them as well.”
