Mamelodi Sundowns striker Brayan León has reflected on scoring his first hat-trick for the club in their thrilling victory over Siwelele FC.

Leon netted his first hat-trick in the top-flight in Sundowns’ 7-4 victory over Siwelele FC at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Colombia international has now taken his goal tally in the Betway Premiership to eight goals and two assists in 14 appearances across all competitions.

The Sundowns forward reflected on a hard-fought win, admitting the team could have scored more and were wasteful in front of goal, but stressed that the most important outcome was securing three points to keep pressure on their rivals in the title race.

“We wanted to score a lot more goals, we missed a lot, we made some mistakes at the back but important was the win, the three points to put pressure on the other team and wait for them, prepare for the next game,” Leon told SuperSport TV after the game.

“We need to go with the same mentality of course, to win the game and score more goals if it’s possible.”
