Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze believes Amakhosi were worthy winners and should provide the squad with renewed confidence heading into their next fixture.
The Glamour Boys ended their three-match winless run in the Betway Premiership following their 1-0 win over Durban City FC on Sunday.
The win saw Amakhosi move up to fifth place in the Betway Premiership standings with 33 points from 19 matches.
The co-coach felt Amakhosi dictated the tempo for most of the encounter but admitted his side invited late pressure by sitting back in the closing minutes, allowing their opponents to create opportunities from throw-ins and set-pieces.
“I think it’s a game we controlled pretty well since the first minute, I would say just in the last five minutes we put ourselves into trouble by going back and allowing them to have a lot of throws, set-pieces but it’s three points we plainly deserved,” Kaze told SuperSport after the game.
“We going to work from that, it’s going to give everyone confidence, serenity to go to work and have a good performance in the next game.
“I think in the first half we had the control of the game, but I feel like we weren’t enough in spaces to go forward and we took a lot of time to move the ball side to side which give the opponents to shift, we didn’t change the gear especially when we got into the opposition half.”
