Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou says that consistency and resilience will be key as the Buccaneers continue their push for the title in the Betway Premiership.
The Buccaneers secured a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Richards Bay through goals from Oswin Appollis and Evidence Makgopa at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
As a result, Pirates have reclaimed top spot in the Betway Premiership standings, level on 47 points with Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Moroccan tactician acknowledged the strength of teams such as Richards Bay FC and Bloemfontein Celtic, noting that matches against well-organised opponents are often the toughest, but
The Moroccan tactician emphasised that any team with ambitions of lifting the title must be prepared to grind out victories in such challenging encounters.
“Difficult game again, difficult game, I can tell you that for me the most consistent teams that we faced this season it was Richards Bay and Siwelele so another tough game,” Ouaddou told SuperSport TV after the game.
“But if you want to champion, you need to go through that team to try to take points and win because it will be difficult.
“We know that the PSL is a very strong league, very good teams, if you want to be champions you have to definitely go and win that game.”
