Sekhukhune United midfielder Lebogang Phiri says they need to prove why they belong in the top flight and cannot afford to show mercy against Milford FC in the Nedbank Cup.
Babina Noko are set to welcome Milford to the Peter Mokaba Stadium when they meet in the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup.
Sekhukhune come into this match looking to bounce back after playing to a 1-1 draw against Durban City in their previous fixture.
Phiri says reaching this stage of the competition presents another opportunity to add to his career achievements as Sekhukhune prepare for a crucial clash.
“This stage of the competition is a plus for me as an individual,” Phiri said as per SuperSport.
“I can certainly add to things that I have accomplished in my life. Going forward into this game, we are going to give it our all.
“After all, we are the team that’s in the PSL top-flight, so we need to be intentional with how we go about this game. We need to make sure that we deserve to be here.
“We can’t show mercy. At the end of the day, they are the underdogs, and everybody is behind them. We just have to go at it.”
