Orlando Pirates attacker Relebohile Mofokeng says his side had to step up their game and show why they are number one in the Betway Premiership.

The Buccaneers secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Marumo Gallants through goals from Yamela Mbuthuma, Patrick Maswanganyi and Relebohile Mofokeng at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto.

Pirates are now six points clear of Mamelodi Sundowns at the top of the table, with 38 points from 16 matches.

Mofokeng insists they have to stay focused on improvement and staying in first place on the log.

“Very tough one, you know, playing Marumo (Gallants) is always tough; they beat us in the first leg, so I think now we had to show ourselves where to step up and to show that we are number one and leading the log,” said Mofokeng.

“We’re doing great; we’re six points clear now. I think we have to improve, have to do our best and keep on staying there.”
