Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos says his side have to learn to concentrate for the entire game after their thrilling clash against Zimbabwe.
South Africa booked their place in the AFCON Round of 16 following their 3-2 victory over Zimbabwe in Marrakech.
Goals from Tshepang Moremi, Lyle Foster and Oswin Appollis cancelled out a goal from Tawanda Maswanhise and an own goal by Aubrey Modiba at the Stade de Marrakech.
Broos’ men have now advanced to the next round of the competition, where they will either face Ivroy Coast or Cameroon.
“We started very well the game, we had chances and we scored so everything was okay,” Broos told SABC Sport after the game.
“Then, suddenly we fell asleep again and conceded a goal to go to halftime 1-1.
“So, we talked to the players and said ‘guys c’mon just do what you…like how you started the game.
“And then the second half it was again like this at the moment it was 2-1 then you start making mistakes again many times we lost possession of the ball, it was 3-2.
“And still we wanted to score the fourth why? Just keep the ball in the team.
“So, yes we played the game what Zimbabwe wanted, back-passing, losing the ball and immediately deep ball so we were a few times in difficulties and that has to stop we can’t control the game anymore and we have to work on it,” he concluded.
