Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos insists he was not happy with his side’s performance in their win over Ghana.

South Africa secured a 1-0 victory over the Black Stars thanks to a goal from Sipho Mbule at the Dobsonville Stadium on Tuesday.

Bafana will now turn their attention to their opening match of the Africa Cup of Nations when they face Angola at the Stade de Marrakech in Marrakech.

Broos was not happy with their performance but stated that the player not wanting to get injured might have played a part in their performance.

“Let’s say I’m happy with the result and that we won the game, but I think we can play much better than today,” Broos told SABC Sport after the game.

“We didn’t play a very good game; there was not so much movement in the team what we’re used to the passing was not good.

“So, there’s still a little bit work to be really on those highest levels for next week.

“Yeah, maybe that’s something that plays a little bit in the head also that next week AFCON starts and that players are a little bit injured or whatever.

“But again, I expected a little bit more from my team today a better game.

“I remember two years ago it was terrible also against Lesotho (laughs) the last game we played so that gave us hope.”
