Kaizer Chiefs coach Cedric Kaze says they held their belief to come back and earn a point against Zamalek SC on Saturday afternoon.

The Soweto giants claimed their first point in the CAF Confederation Cup group stages after playing out to a 1-1 draw against Zamalek at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

The draw sees Amakhosi remain in third place in group D with one point, while Zamalek stay in second place with four points after two matches.

Kaze now has the belief that his side can qualify for the next round of the continental competitions.

“Ok, the game didn’t go in our favour from the first minute, we conceded after three minutes, we have to make our two substitutions after 15 minutes we had already two substitutions, but we kept believing that we could come back,” Kaze told SABC Sport.

“We kept our belief alive; we did everything to try to get back into the game.

“Unfortunately, we scored at the very end but I’m so proud of the boys, we did everything we could and with this kind of mentality and display – I’m pretty sure we’ll qualify.”
