Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso says he is expecting a ‘very intense’ clash against Rulani Mokwena’s MC Alger.

The Brazilians got their CAF Champions League campaign off to the perfect start following their 3-1 win over Saint Eloi Lupopo.

Sundowns will now turn their attention to their next match against MC Alger when they meet at the Ali la Pointe Stadium on Friday.

Sundowns come into this encounter sitting at the top of the Group C table, level on three points with Al-Hilal after one match.

“What I expect is that the match will obviously be very intense in an environment where the best players who excel become better but the players that don’t have quality or experience, they shrink a little bit,” said Cardoso.

“We see ambiance like that we gonna face like high level motivation, I love it. I worked in Tunisia and experienced a lot of this kind of environment.

“We have a lot of experience in the Champions League around the Northern Africa that has always had this kind of ambiance.

“We love it and it’s absolutely wonderful to have a full stadium with supporters.

“We also know they will be high intensity and the crowd won’t allow the match to be slow, and we need to be ready for that.”
